AI Testing & Assurance Practice Lead 12-Month Day Rate Contract | Melbourne

Join a major enterprise as it establishes an enterprise-wide AI Testing & Assurance capability.

This senior leadership role will define the standards, evidence requirements and assurance framework used to assess and approve AI solutions before release. Working across Transformation, Technology, Risk and AI teams, you will establish how AI systems are validated, governed and independently assured, while also shaping the future of AI-enabled testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the enterprise AI Testing & Assurance Framework.
- Establish standards covering AI safety, bias, explainability, drift, resilience and monitoring.
- Provide independent assurance and release-readiness recommendations for high-risk AI initiatives.
- Translate AI risk and governance obligations into practical testing, validation and evidence requirements.
- Define the business validation model to ensure AI outcomes are appropriate, explainable and safe.
- Lead the Business Testing team through capability uplift and workforce transition initiatives.
- Partner with Technology, Transformation and Risk teams to embed AI assurance into existing delivery and governance processes.

About You





- Proven experience building AI/ML testing, model validation, Responsible AI or assurance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of AI risks including bias, reliability, explainability, adversarial testing and monitoring.
- Background in Testing, Quality Engineering, Assurance, Risk or Governance.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and providing independent assurance recommendations.
- Demonstrated capability in driving organisational change, capability uplift and current operating models.
- Experience within regulated environments is highly regarded.

Desirable

- Financial Services, Banking or Insurance experience.
- Responsible AI, AI Governance or Model Risk Management expertise.
- Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, red teaming or AI-enabled testing practices.
