As our Allied Health Assistant at Finncare, you’ll help create these everyday moments—bringing practical care, encouragement and connection to older people as they live with greater independence and joy.

We are currently looking for an energetic, compassionate, and hands-on Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team on a casual basis, with a possibility to transition into a permanent role.

Working under the direct guidance of our Occupational Therapist, this unique and varied role bridges direct resident care, gym coordination, and facility safety. Whether you are an experienced AHA or an Allied Health/Nursing student looking to gain invaluable experience, we would love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days will look the same! Your responsibilities will include:

- Therapeutic Program Delivery: Facilitate tailored 1-on-1 and group physical/cognitive exercise programs delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
- Hands-On Comfort & Mobility:



Conduct regular massage rounds, providing therapeutic and pressure point massage to enhance resident comfort and well-being.
- Gym Facility Oversight: Coordinate and run our onsite gym—guiding residents and community members through safe exercise routines and promoting gym engagement.
- Safety & Compliance Auditing: Champion a safe care environment by performing regular room, sling, and equipment safety audits to meet high-quality WHS standards.
- Equipment Management & Practical Support: Assist with equipment procurement, maintain stock inventory, and provide basic troubleshooting/minor repairs (e.g., call bells, pendants, basic gym apparatus).
- Collaboration & Documentation: Maintain explicit clinical records and act as a vital link between Allied Health, Nursing, Maintenance, and Lifestyle teams.

About You You are a proactive, people-focused individual with great communication skills and a genuine heart for aged care.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Completed or currently studying towards:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, OR
- Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, or Nursing, OR
- Relevant qualification in Remedial Massage, Fitness, or Health Sciences.





- Current National Police Check (or willing to obtain).

Desirable:

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Basic understanding or course completion in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS).
- Proficiency in the Finnish language (written and oral) is highly regarded.
- Experience of working with older people.

Skills & Attributes:

- Confidence (or eagerness to learn) in delivering therapeutic massage and delegated exercise routines.
- A practical, detail-oriented approach with a knack for basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Warm, empathetic interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and connect with residents.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
