AOD Counsellor Case Manager
Chinchilla | 38 hours per week | Fixed-Term to 30 June 2027
SCHADS Level 4.1 - 5.1 | $92,295 - $105,577 per annum + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Perks

We're seeking a passionate and proactive AOD Counsellor Case Manager to join our South West Queensland team, based in Chinchilla with regular outreach to Miles and Tara.
This rewarding role supports people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges through counselling, case management and recovery-focused interventions. Working across rural and regional communities, you will help people build on their strengths, overcome barriers and achieve meaningful recovery outcomes while strengthening connections with local services and supports.
About the Role
As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager, you will deliver evidence-based alcohol and other drug treatment services, including assessment, counselling, case management, care coordination, and on referral support.
Working collaboratively with clients, community organisations and health providers, you will deliver evidence-based interventions that support recovery, wellbeing and long-term positive change. You'll manage a varied caseload while building strong partnerships that improve access to services across the Western Downs region.
This role is based in Chinchilla and involves regular outreach to Miles and Tara.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake, screening and comprehensive assessments.
- Deliver evidence-based drug and alcohol counselling and case management.
- Develop person-centred treatment and recovery plans.
- Support clients through referral, advocacy and care coordination activities.
- Maintain accurate client records, case notes and reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and referral partners.
- Participate in case reviews, team meetings, clinical supervision and professional development activities.
- Promote recovery-oriented, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and service development initiatives.
What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Human Services, Behavioural Science or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering counselling and/or case management services within the alcohol and other drug, mental health or community services sector.
- Knowledge of alcohol and other drug treatment, recovery and harm minimisation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and support people experiencing complex needs.
- Strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with community organisations and service providers.
- Sound administration and computer skills, including client management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
