Hames Sharley is a national interdisciplinary design practice specialising in Architecture, Interior Design, Town Planning and Urban Design. Our mission is to create sustainable and inclusive places that enable communities to flourish.
We are currently seeking a talented Architect or Designer to join our Defence teamin Adelaide Studio on Kaurna Country.
Defence project experience is preferred but not essential. Relevant complex building experience with heavy services coordination will be looked at favourably. Due to the nature of these projects, holding or having the immediate ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Baseline security clearance is a mandatory requirement.
This role involves but is not limited to:
- Produce clear design communication through drawings, models and written material, supporting decision‑making and project clarity.
- Build strong client relationships through clear communication, briefings and presentations that support alignment and confidence.
- Coordinate consultants and teams to ensure integrated, efficient and high‑quality project delivery.
- Develop design and technical documentation with a strong focus on Revit, resolving design and technical issues proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to studio culture by mentoring team members, collaborating positively and supporting leadership and design processes.
About you:
Our Architect or Designer will bring 5 to 10+ years of proven experience across the delivery of high-quality projects. In this role, you are an experienced architect or designer with strong delivery, coordination and leadership skills. You enjoy working collaboratively and have a proven track record delivering complex projects. You bring creative architectural thinking, technical capability and professionalism to project delivery with minimal supervision to deliver strong design outcomes.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Master of Architecture qualification, registration preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Complex building design and project delivery experience with heavy services coordination
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge and experience applying the requirements of the BCA/NCC and other relevant standards
