Role Description The Architectural Draftsperson is a full time, in office role based in Cairns, QLD. This position is responsible for preparing detailed architectural and construction drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and documentation to support development approvals and building processes. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design concepts, coordinating with architects, designers, engineers, and project managers, and ensuring drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.

The role involves revising and updating plans as required, maintaining drawing accuracy and version control, and supporting the construction team with clear, practical documentation.

The Architectural





Draftsperson will also contribute to design planning and problem-solving to support MiHaven’s innovative and sustainable project outcomes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings to produce accurate, buildable documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Architecture and Planning to interpret design intent and contribute to spatial and functional planning.
- Candidates should possess solid Drawing skills, including technical drafting and digital drawing using CAD or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Candidates should have knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and local council requirements, particularly relevant to Queensland.
- Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
- A relevant qualification in Architectural Drafting, Building Design, or Architecture, and prior experience in residential or commercial construction projects, is highly beneficial.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on-site are important for success in this role.
