About Radian Architecture:
Radian Architecture is a proudly 100% Indigenous-owned national architectural studio delivering innovative, culturally informed and sustainable design solutions across Australia. With staff nationally, our growing team works across retail, commercial, industrial, government, health, education and community projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Architectural Graduate to join our team.
About the Role:
This role is suited to an Architectural Graduate with 3-5+ years’ experience, strong technical documentation skills and demonstrated experience contributing across the full architectural project lifecycle.
You will work on projects from the documentation of existing conditions through masterplanning, concept design, design development and Issue for Construction documentation. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in Revit and capable of producing accurate, coordinated and construction-ready architectural documentation. You are required to be located in NSW, as this position is predominantly work from home.
The position also involves at times undertaking Matterport/Lidar scanning and site-capture activities throughout NSW, with occasional interstate travel. Training in scanning will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document existing site conditions using architectural site surveys, Matterport scanning and available reference information.
- Prepare and coordinate existing-condition drawings and Revit models.
- Contribute to masterplanning,
concept design and spatial planning.
- Develop approved concepts into coordinated design-development documentation.
- Prepare detailed architectural documentation and Issue for Construction drawing packages.
- Produce accurate 3D building models using Revit.
- Apply relevant National Construction Code requirements, Australian Standards and planning controls to project documentation.
- Coordinate architectural documentation with structural, civil, building-services and other consultant information.
- Review consultant documentation and identify coordination issues, discrepancies and clashes.
- Incorporate client, consultant and internal review comments into drawing packages.
- Assist with planning approvals, building permits and other authority submissions where required.
- Undertake site inspections, surveys and construction-stage documentation.
- Support responses to RFIs and documentation updates during construction.
- Assist with the preparation of as-built and project-completion documentation.
- Follow established BIM, drawing-management, quality-assurance and document-control processes.
- Manage allocated tasks and documentation deadlines across multiple projects.
- Communicate effectively with project architects, consultants, clients and internal team members.
Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Approximately three to five years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an Australian architectural practice.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, including model development, documentation, families, schedules, detailing and drawing production.
- Demonstrated experience contributing across the full project lifecycle, including:
- o Existing-conditions documentation
- o Masterplanning
- o Concept design
- o Design development
- o Detailed documentation
- o Issue for Construction documentation
- o Construction-stage and as-built documentation
- Sound working knowledge of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards.
- An understanding of local government planning requirements and approval processes.
- Experience coordinating architectural documentation with multidisciplinary consultant packages.
- The ability to read, interpret and develop design briefs, mark-ups and technical information.
- Strong technical drawing, detailing and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, coordinated documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively while also managing tasks independently.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines.
- A willingness and ability to travel throughout NSW and interstate for short site visits, generally lasting one to three days.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or an equivalent recognised architectural qualification.
- Master of Architecture completed or currently underway will be highly regarded.
- Australian working rights are required.
