Accounts Recovery Officer- STAR COMMUNITY SERVICES

Are you organised, detail-oriented and enjoy helping people while working with numbers and administration? Do you want a part-time role that makes a real difference in your local community?

STAR Community Services is seeking a friendly and reliable Accounts Recovery Officer to join our Business Services team for 2 days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in administration, accounts, customer service or finance within a supportive not-for-profit environment.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of our Finance Coordinator, you will assist with the recovery of outstanding client accounts through routine follow-up, client communication, data entry and accounts administration.

This is an entry-level position that follows established procedures and provides comprehensive on-the-job training. You'll play an important role in supporting clients professionally and respectfully while helping STAR maintain accurate financial records.

What You'll Be Doing

✔ Contacting clients regarding outstanding invoices using approved scripts and templates

✔ Recording payment information and updating debtor records

✔ Assisting with invoicing and accounts receivable administration

✔ Maintaining accurate records in Xero and other systems

✔ Supporting month-end finance administration tasks

✔ Escalating complex, disputed or hardship matters to the Finance Coordinator

✔ Delivering qualified, respectful and confidential customer service

What We're Looking For





You don't need formal finance qualifications to apply. We're looking for someone who:

- Has strong attention to detail
- Is comfortable using computers and data-entry systems
- Has good written and verbal communication skills
- Can follow procedures and instructions accurately
- Treats people with dignity, respect and empathy
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism
- Is reliable, organised and willing to learn

Desirable Experience Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Administration or office support
- Customer service
- Accounts or bookkeeping
- Data entry
- Xero or similar accounting software
- Community services, aged care or not-for-profit organisations

Employment Requirements Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Current Driver Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle (where required)
