Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our team. This is a key, senior role within the department, responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function while providing a high standard of professionalism and quality of service to a varied client base. You will work closely with clients and colleagues alike, taking ownership of your own portfolio while supporting the development of junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete all assignments within the allocated budget and on time.
- Produce draft tax computations for clients.
- Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
- Review work undertaken by junior members of staff.
- Provide assistance and support in the development of junior staff.
- Prepare schedules for tax returns.
- Complete VAT returns.

- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative when required.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proven analytical skills.

Qualifications & Experience

- AAT Qualified, with optional progression to ACA or ACCA.
- Previous experience gained within General Practice.




- Ability to travel to client premises and between offices.
- Knowledge of accounting standards would be an advantage.
