Senior Facilities Officer – APS 6

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radiocommunications, telecommunications and some online content.

About the role The Senior Facilities Officer is responsible for the provision of agency security and facilities management advice and ensuring the ACMA’s security policy, procedures and documentation is current and complies with all government and legal requirements.

The Senior Facilities Officer is a leadership role that has people, program and stakeholder responsibilities for all security and facilities related requirements for the ACMA. They work with a considerable degree of independence and under broad direction to:

- Assisting the Agency Security Advisor on ACMA’s physical and personnel security requirements are met in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Assist to Develop and maintain Protective security procedures and risks.
- Support business continuity practices.
- Assist and respond to security incidents, breaches and investigations.
- Manage the ongoing administration of the ACMA’s office service requirements including reception and mail/courier services.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of ACMA facilities.
- Assist the ongoing property service and portfolio requirements with ACMA’s outsourced property services provider.
- Manage and coordinate the ACMA’s emergency procedures and personnel as well as management of any facilities related WHS issues.




- Effective management and coordination of procurement of goods and services.
- Supervision and coordination of facilities and reception staff across the ACMA office network.

Our Ideal Candidate We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Officer who has:

- experience with Whole of Australian Government Property services arrangements
- in-depth knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
- experience providing strategic advice and making sound decisions using skilled judgement, effectively communicating complex issues and evaluating risks in a complex operating environment
- a demonstrated ability to gather, interpret and analyse information from precedent and established legislation, policy, procedures, and guidelines to situations involving a high level of complexity and sensitivity
- demonstrated capability to sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively negotiating, influencing, and managing expectations to achieve positive outcomes
- knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) obligations
- experience overseeing maintenance programs, service requests and building works
- experience with building services, security systems and accommodation planning.

To be eligible for employment with ACMA, applicants must be an Australian citizen. A Baseline security clearance is required for this position.

This is a 12 month NON-ONGOING vacancy which may be extended or become ongoing.
