We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic, organised, and hardworking Activities Assistant to join our team!

About the role

Are you creative, enthusiastic and passionate about helping others discover their talents?

Kith and Kin is looking for someone to facilitate Art, Craft & Sewing Classes and support our participants to explore their creativity, learn new skills and bring their ideas to life.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside participants to brainstorm, plan and create a range of art, craft and sewing projects. You will encourage participants to share their own ideas while providing guidance and hands-on support to help them achieve their goals.

You will play an important role in creating a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment where participants can build confidence, develop recent skills and enjoy meaningful activities.

Hours range from Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 3:00pm

Key responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with participants to brainstorm,



plan and complete creative projects based on their individual interests and abilities.
- Create class plans through research and preparations.
- Supervise participants in group activities.
- Coordinate with facilitators for changes to activities and classes.

Skills and Qualifications

- Demonstrated sewing skills and the ability to confidently use a sewing machine. Applicants must be creative and able to independently brainstorm and develop engaging sewing, art and craft activities, while working collaboratively with participants to bring their ideas to life.
- Possess effective oral/written communication, interpersonal skills, and sound computer skills.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with a disability and/or mental illness.
- Hold a current Queensland Driver Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to work both without supervision and as part of a team.
- Undergo NDIS worker screening.

Pay: $37.36 per hour
