Administration and Governance Officer (O.8 FTE)
Bar-Barrum Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC | Dimbulah, Queensland | 2-year maximum-term project position subject to funding
Salary: Pro-rata at 0.8FTE of $90,000–$110,000 plus on-costs, including 12% superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
About us
Bar-Barrum Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) RNTBC represents and supports the interests of the Bar-Barrum People as determined common law holders under the Native Title Act. The Corporation is strengthening its governance, operational sustainability and community engagement through a significant governance and capacity-building project.
About the role The Administration and Governance Officer at 0.8 FTE will support the delivery of the NIAA Governance and Capacity-Building Project and help BAC build strong, practical and sustainable governance systems. Working closely with the Board, Chairperson, consultants and stakeholders, this role will coordinate administration, records, reporting, governance documentation and project activities that support the long-term interests of the Bar-Barrum People.
What you’ll do
· Prepare and coordinate Board meeting notices, agendas, resolutions, minutes and governance documents.
· Support governance systems, policies, procedures, registers and compliance documentation.
· Coordinate NIAA project timelines, deliverables, reporting requirements, workshops and training activities.
· Maintain corporate records, files, digital document systems and operational registers.
· Assist with funding administration, budget tracking,
acquittals and compliance reporting.
· Support culturally appropriate communication with directors, members, common law holders and stakeholders.
About you
You are highly organised, professional and culturally capable, with experience in administration, governance support, project coordination or records management. You communicate respectfully, understand the importance of confidentiality, and can work effectively in an Aboriginal corporation environment. You will be confident using Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 and willing to build knowledge of the CATSI Act, Aboriginal corporation governance, Native Title processes and funding compliance obligations.
Highly regarded
· Are of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander decent
· Experience working with Aboriginal corporations, RNTBCs or community organisations.
· Knowledge of Bar-Barrum Country, community history and/or Native Title matters.
· Experience with governance systems, strategic planning, funding administration or operational administration.
