Join SHY Rehab – Allied Health Assistant & Administration Officer
Full-Time Position | Queensland SHY Rehab is a growing multidisciplinary allied health provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred services to children and adults across Queensland.
We are seeking a reliable, organised and motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) & Administration Officer to join our supportive and growing team.
This is a full-time position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with therapists, supporting clients and families, and helping ensure the day-to-day operations of an allied health practice run smoothly.
About the Role
The successful applicant will work closely with our occupational therapists, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals, providing both clinical support and administrative assistance.
Your responsibilities may include
- Supporting therapists during client appointments and therapy programs.
- Assisting with therapy activities and implementing programs under therapist direction.
- Working with children and adults across community and clinic settings.
- Assisting therapists with resources, equipment and preparation for sessions.
- Providing administrative support to therapists and the wider clinical team.
- Managing appointments, scheduling and client communication.
- Assisting with NDIS-related administration, documentation and processes.
- Maintaining accurate client records and administrative systems.
- Assisting with reports, referrals, correspondence and other documentation.
- Communicating professionally with participants, families, support coordinators and other service providers.
- Supporting the smooth coordination of community and clinic-based services.
- Assisting with general office administration and day-to-day practice operations.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Available to work full-time.
- Highly organised, reliable and proactive.
- Confident communicating with clients, families and health professionals.
- Comfortable working alongside therapists and supporting clinical programs.
- Experienced in or has a good understanding of the NDIS and NDIS processes.
- Strong with administration, documentation and computer systems.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Professional, friendly and approachable.
- Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Comfortable working with children, adults and people with disability.
- Willing to learn and take direction from allied health professionals.
- A current driver's licence is desirable due to community-based services.
Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant, therapy assistant, disability support worker, medical/allied health administrator or similar role will be highly regarded.
