We've created an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail leader to join The Good Grocer Doubleview as an Assistant Store Manager.
With our Doubleview store in the final stages of an impressive renovation, there's never been a better time to join our store leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Store Manager ready to step up, or a successful Department Manager looking to broaden their leadership experience across an entire supermarket operation.
With strong development pathways, mentoring and hands-on exposure to all aspects of store management, this role provides an excellent chance to progress towards a future Store Manager position.
About the Role:
Working closely with the Store Manager, you will:
- Support the day-to-day operation of the store
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
- Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager's absence
- Drive customer service, sales and operational excellence
- Manage and develop your own departments
- Ensure high standards of food safety, merchandising and store presentation
- Build solid connections with customers and the local community
- Strong people leadership and team development skills
- Sound commercial acumen, including sales, wages and gross profit management
- A passion for fresh food and customer service.
Fresh food experience; gourmet product knowledge is an advantage
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Proficiency with IT systems (Microsoft, Smart Retail, ABCIS)
