Commercial Litigation & Insolvency | Associate

Want to build serious commercial litigation and insolvency experience early in your career? The sort that will set you up to grow a practice, or head to the bar in the future?

The opportunity:

We’re working with a growing specialist commercial law firm looking to add an Associate to its Brisbane litigation team.

This is an opportunity to work closely with experienced senior litigators across a genuinely interesting mix of commercial disputes and insolvency work, including:

- insolvency litigation, unfair preferences and voidable transaction claims;
- bankruptcy, creditor petitions and winding-up proceedings;
- acting for creditors, liquidators and other insolvency stakeholders;
- contractual and business-to-business disputes;
- statutory demands and judgment enforcement;
- guarantees, securities and director liability;
- PPSA, caveats, charging clauses and priority disputes; and
- contested court proceedings and commercial dispute resolution.

This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind senior lawyers doing discrete pieces of matters.

As your capability develops, you'll have the opportunity to run matters, deal directly with clients, attend court and mediations, work with referrers and take increasing ownership of your files,



while still having experienced senior lawyers around you when you need them.

About you

You'll ideally have 2–5 years' PAE and some experience in commercial litigation, insolvency or broader dispute resolution.

You don't need to have done everything above. We're interested in good young litigators who have strong fundamentals, enjoy getting into the detail of commercial disputes and want to develop into genuinely capable commercial litigation and insolvency lawyers.

You'll be commercially minded, comfortable dealing with clients and keen to take on more responsibility as your experience grows.
