What are we looking for?

Our Work and Road team is growing and we are on the lookout for an experienced Lawyer/Associate with 5+ years PAE on a Full Time basis. We are flexible for the successful candidate to sit out of any of our 11 offices within Victoria.

This position will provide flexible support across our Victorian Work & Road teams. The successful applicant would spend periods of time stepping into existing practices to cover for colleagues’ leave, or to provide additional support for busy practices in order to assist with progression and settlement of clients’ claims.

Preferably, applicants will have experience in both WorkCover and MVA claims, although depending on business needs consideration will be given to creating a role in only one practice area if appropriate for the successful applicant.

Key responsibilities include

- Manage a diverse caseload, providing timely legal advice, client support and high-quality outcomes.
- Have the flexibility to step into and progress different Work Cover and MVA practices.
- Consult with clients to understand their matters, provide clear advice and effectively manage expectations.
- Prepare quality legal correspondence,



advice and documentation within required timeframes.
- Work collaboratively with senior lawyers, counsel and external experts to resolve complex legal issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to the development of referral networks.
- Conduct file reviews, identify risks and implement solutions to support effective matter management.
- Provide clear and informative advice to clients, addressing queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Supervise, mentor and support junior lawyers and legal support staff within the practice group.
- Ensure compliance with firm standards, policies and National Practice Standards.
- Contribute to the ongoing growth, performance and success of the practice area.

- Experience as a lawyer with the ability to independently manage a client portfolio and deliver quality legal advice.
- Strong knowledge and capability within your relevant practice area.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong client management skills and the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Experience mentoring,



supervising or supporting junior lawyers and legal support staff.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior lawyers, counsel and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisation and matter management skills.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and achieving positive outcomes.
