Collectables, auction preparation, client service and logistics A role with variety Help fascinating collectables move from consignment to auction display and, ultimately, into the hands of their new owners.
About Abacus Auctions
Abacus Auctions is one of Australia’s leading auction houses for collectables, including stamps, coins, banknotes, sporting memorabilia, historical documents and artefacts. Our on-site auctions are live-streamed to bidders around the world.
We are a friendly, close-knit team of around a dozen people, working from a spacious, modern office and warehouse in Mount Waverley, near Monash University. We are looking for a practical, organised and personable team member who enjoys varied work and takes pride in handling interesting objects carefully.
About the role
This is much more than a conventional warehouse role. You will be involved throughout the auction journey: travelling to collect consignments, safely loading and transporting them, organising items on arrival, preparing attractive auction-viewing displays, retrieving lots for staff and clients, and helping purchasers collect or receive their items after an auction.
You will combine hands-on warehouse and dispatch work with regular contact with consignors, bidders and buyers. The role would suit someone who is dependable, methodical and physically capable, but also friendly, adaptable and comfortable using computers. Auction experience is not required—we will provide training.pORTER

· Training in auction-house operations and the collectables market; previous auction experience is not essential.
· A supportive small-team environment and the opportunity to broaden your responsibilities as you develop.
