About the Role
Schwartz Media is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Audience Producer to join our editorial team in Collingwood.
Reporting to the Audience Editor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our journalism to passionate readers across Australia. You will craft high-performing newsletters, drive dynamic social media content, and help curate our audience’s journey across a range of titles and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Newsletter production: Produce, edit and optimise our suite of newsletters with precision and solid editorial judgment under broad supervision.
- Social media creation: Edit, design and publish engaging content across Schwartz Media's social accounts.
- Community and platform moderation: Monitor third-party platforms, curate stories for syndication and foster constructive reader engagement through active moderation.
- Data and growth strategy: Track digital analytics, build performance reports and propose tactical ideas to hit audience growth targets.
- Editorial collaboration: Work across editorial, production and design teams on key publishing priorities.
- Content operations and CMS management: Build, optimise and schedule content across our website, mobile app and custom CMS, maintaining high editorial standards.
What we are looking for
- Experience: Minimum two years’ producing, editing and publishing digital content for a news,
media or publishing organisation.
- Passion: Interest in Australian current affairs, politics, arts and culture, combined with a commitment to independent journalism.
- Technical savvy: Hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS), email service providers (ESPs), and web analytics tools.
- Social media fluency: A sophisticated understanding of platform algorithms, digital storytelling formats and how audiences consume news online.
- Qualifications: A degree in journalism, communications or media, or equivalent practical experience in digital media production.
