About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join the team at Innovative Auto Electrics Pty Ltd. This is a full time position based in Dandenong South, Victoria. As an Auto Electrician, you will be at the forefront of diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems in vehicles.

This role is critical to our operations, ensuring that our clients receive high-quality electrical solutions that keep their vehicles running safely and efficiently. You will work with modern diagnostic equipment and contribute to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive trades industry.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions in vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment and testing tools
- Repair and replace faulty electrical components, including starters, alternators, batteries, wiring harnesses and lighting systems
- Install aftermarket electrical accessories and upgrades for customers
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicle electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct electrical system inspections and provide customers with detailed reports and repair recommendations
- Test and troubleshoot complex electrical problems to identify root causes
- Maintain accurate work records and documentation for each vehicle serviced
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with other team members to support workshop operations and customer service

What we're looking for





- A current recognised automotive electrical qualification or apprenticeship completion in automotive electrics
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Auto Electrician in a professional automotive workshop environment
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes and other specialised testing tools
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including charging systems, starting systems, lighting and accessory circuits
- Competency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to customers
- A commitment to safety practices and compliance with workplace health and safety standards
- Preferred experience with modern vehicle electrical systems and hybrid or electric vehicle technology
