We are looking for a Banquets Team Leader, (open to Full Time or Part Time) to support in delivering excellent conferences and events to our guests.

What is the job?

The Banquets Team Leader will work closely with the head of Conference & Events Operations to run the operation in the hotel’s function spaces, ensure quality service and standards and deliver a guest experience that is unique and beyond expectations.

This is a hands-on role suitable for an experienced Banquets colleague who is passionate about working the floor with the team during events.

- Run each function in accordance with the BEO deliver events in accordance with guest requests and expectations from weddings and social events in our Grand Ballroom to meetings and conferences in our meeting rooms.

- Work closely with internal stakeholders and affiliated departments to ensure seamless delivery of all meetings, conferences, weddings and social events at the hotel

- Oversee all service and set ups, ensuring all colleagues are properly trained to effectively carry out their job function

- Ensure the delivery of positive customer experience across by meeting the brand differentiators such as Incredible Occasions and InterContinental Meetings creating unique guest experiences.

- Help build, motivate and oversee an effective, results driven team that is highly engaged delivers a branded customer experience.

- Develop and maintain strong relations with Banquet kitchen team,



and other stakeholders whose support, cooperation, and services are critical to the success of the function.

- Assist to maintain a comprehensive, current, and guest focused set of departmental standard operating procedures SOPs) and oversee their implementation

- Communicate any difficulties with service, guest comments and other relevant information; follow complaint handling procedures for prompt resolution of challenges

- Take personal interest and pride in maintaining work areas for cleanliness and maintenance

What we need from you

- Must meet the legal requirements to live & work in Australia with no visa restrictions (sponsorship is not available)

- Previous experience in banquets / events is preferred, such as weddings, social events, meetings and conferences operations in the luxury hotel sector.

- Demonstrated ability to train, delegate, help lead and motivate a large team

- Confident communication, both verbal and written and experience dealing with senior leaders and VIP guests.

- Excellent time management and organisational skills with a flexible, hands on and adaptive working approach

- Exceptional grooming, and presentation

- Valid NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

- Ability to attend work in the evenings, weekends and Public Holidays as and when the business requires and to ensure efficient operations
