At Avina, we’re a national allied health and behaviour support organisation with 400+ clinicians across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA. We’re looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our established
Western Sydney team, based from our Penrith office.
If you’re looking for the flexibility and autonomy of community-based practice without feeling like you’re working on your own, this could be a great next move.
Why our Penrith team? You’ll be joining an established multidisciplinary team of Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, a Psychologist and Physiotherapist, supporting clients across the Blue Mountains, Nepean, Hawkesbury and Western Sydney.
It’s a team where people tend to stay — many have been with us for three years or more — and there’s a genuine focus on connection, collaboration and enjoying the people you work with.
You Can Expect
- Flexibility across home, our Penrith office and the community
- A varied lifespan caseload, with the prospect to work with a broad range of presentations and complex support needs
- An established team of experienced BSP and allied health colleagues to collaborate with
- Monthly clinical and line supervision, plus Behaviour Support Communities of Practice
- Opportunities for shadowing, senior mentoring, complex caseloads and special projects
- Fortnightly team meetings and genuine opportunities for multidisciplinary work
- A team that makes time to connect through lunches, wellbeing activities and team events
About the Role You’ll deliver evidence-informed, person-centred Positive Behaviour Support across home, school, community and other everyday environments.
Your role will include conducting functional behaviour assessments, developing
Behaviour Support Plans, working closely with participants and their support networks, and collaborating with other clinicians to achieve meaningful, sustainable outcomes.
You’ll have autonomy to manage your schedule and caseload while still having the clinical support and team connection around you when you need it.
About You For this opportunity, we’re specifically looking for an experienced
Behaviour Support Practitioner Who
- Is currently considered suitable by the NDIS Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Has demonstrated experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS
- Is confident completing functional behaviour assessments and developing Behaviour Support Plans
- Enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge with other clinicians
- Brings curiosity, sound clinical judgement and a person-centred approach
- Holds a driver’s licence and has access to a vehicle for community work
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, the required NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children checks
- Has full Australian working rights
Come do the best work of your career At Avina, we want experienced clinicians to have the autonomy to practise well, while still having people around them who genuinely have their back. As Ange, our Penrith Team Leader, puts it, the best part of the team is the people — they support each other, celebrate successes and work together to create meaningful change for their clients.
If you’re an experienced BSP looking for a team where you can continue growing while doing work that matters, we’d love to hear from you.
