About Resthaven

Established in 1935, Resthaven is one of a select few aged care providers in Australia to offer the full spectrum of care, from community support through to residential services. Proudly South Australian and financially independent, we are a not-for-profit charity connected to the Uniting Church in Australia.

We are a modern organisation that takes governance seriously, invests in our people, and is committed to making a profound difference to older South Australians and their families. Find meaningful work and real purpose here.

About the Role

You'll work at the centre of Resthaven's leadership, providing trusted governance support to the Board and high-level executive support to the CEO.

This is a wide-ranging and influential role, overseeing the Board and committee meeting cycle, including the preparation of papers, agendas, minutes, actions and governance records. You'll also support Resthaven's governance and compliance framework, monitor relevant legislative developments and provide timely briefings to the CEO, Board and Executive Management Team.

Alongside your governance responsibilities, you'll provide comprehensive executive support to the CEO, managing a complex calendar, correspondence, travel, meeting preparation and key stakeholder relationships. You'll liaise regularly with Board members, government departments and external stakeholders, requiring sound judgement, discretion and a highly professional approach.

This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable working within formal governance processes and the demands of a busy executive office, and who takes pride in being organised, responsive and trusted.

Please note that attendance at Board and committee meetings is required, and some of these are scheduled outside standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and distribute Board and committee papers, agendas, minutes and supporting materials
- Maintain governance registers, charters, committee terms of reference, and the delegation’s framework
- Support statutory compliance and regulatory reporting under the Aged Care Act 2024 and ACNC Act 2012
- Brief the CEO, Board, and Executive Management Group on legislative and governance developments
- Manage the CEO's calendar, correspondence, travel, and meeting preparation
- Act as liaison between the CEO, Board members, government departments, and external stakeholders
- Draft correspondence, briefing papers, reports, and presentations on behalf of the CEO and Board Chair
- Lead a small reception and administration team.

What You'll Bring

- Tertiary qualification in business administration, governance, law, or a related field, or equivalent senior experience in a governance or company secretarial role
- Proven experience managing Board and subcommittee operations, including board papers, minutes, and governance reporting

- Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and statutory compliance in the not-for-profit or similar sector
- Outstanding written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional documents
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with Board portals such as Diligent
- A reputation for discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost professionalism
- The ability to manage competing priorities calmly and meet deadlines consistently.

Experience in aged care, health or community services is valued but not essential. If you have strong governance and executive support experience and the judgement this role demands, we would love to hear from you.

What's on Offer

- A role with real influence, working directly with the CEO and Board on matters that shape the organisation
- A collaborative, values-led culture where your contribution is visible and recognised
- Salary packaging benefits as a not-for-profit employer, increasing your take home pay
- Professional development and genuine support to grow in your role
- The satisfaction of working for an organisation that makes a meaningful difference to people's lives
