Help shape how Australian SMBs work in the AI era.

mySMB.com is looking for a Business Analyst who combines strong business analysis capability with genuine accounting or bookkeeping experience – and is excited about how AI is changing the way businesses operate.

You might be a bookkeeper or accountant who has moved into systems and process improvement, or a BA who has worked deeply with finance operations and SMB technology.

Either way, you understand that running an SMB involves much more than accounting software.

The opportunity

You will help us understand how SMBs work today and design how they could work better tomorrow.

That means working across finance, payroll, CRM, people, sales, workflow, reporting, productivity and other business systems – identifying where better processes, integration, automation and AI can make a practical difference.

You will also help us explore what an AI-native SMB looks like: how processes, roles and systems should evolve as AI becomes part of everyday business.

What you will do

· Work with SMB owners and internal teams to understand how work happens and where it gets stuck.

· Map processes and turn business problems into clear requirements and solutions.

· Work across accounting and other core SMB business systems.

· Help design and test digital workflows, integrations, automation and AI-enabled solutions.

· Identify opportunities to redesign work using AI rather than simply automate existing processes.

· Use AI confidently in your own work.

· Help create practical guidance,



tools and approaches that SMBs can adopt.

What you will bring

· Hands-on Australian accounting or bookkeeping experience.

· Business analysis, systems implementation or process-improvement experience.

· Robust understanding of finance processes and platforms such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online.

· Confidence learning and working across other SMB business systems.

· Strong problem-solving, stakeholder and communication skills.

· Practical experience with AI tools and an appetite to keep learning as the technology evolves.
