About the opportunity
Our client is an Indigenous-owned energy broker business helping commercial customers access competitive energy solutions and pricing. We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to join the team and take ownership of identifying, quoting and securing new commercial customers.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone who understands commercial customers, enjoys building relationships and can confidently navigate energy pricing and proposals to deliver competitive outcomes.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Identifying and developing new commercial customer opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients and prospects.
- Understanding customers' energy requirements and developing appropriate solutions.
- Obtaining and comparing supplier pricing to identify the best available provider and commercial outcome for each customer.
- Preparing and presenting competitive quotes and proposals.
- Managing the sales process from initial enquiry through to conversion.
- Negotiating with customers and energy providers where required.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales pipelines and forecasting.
- Developing ongoing relationships with customers to identify further opportunities.
- Working closely with internal teams and energy providers to ensure a smooth customer experience.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, energy sales, utilities, procurement or a related commercial environment.
- Robust commercial acumen and an understanding of pricing and quoting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- The ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially competitive solutions.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to winning new business.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
- Confidence dealing with commercial decision-makers.
- A genuine interest in contributing to an Indigenous-owned business and its customers.
Experience within the energy, utilities, electricity, gas, procurement or commercial services sectors will be highly regarded.
