Business Development Manager – Digital Marketing

Our client is a well-established digital marketing agency with a strong reputation across Australia. They work with a broad range of businesses, helping them grow through performance-led marketing, and have built a solid track record of long-term client relationships and measurable results. As the business continues to grow, they're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The role

This is a hunter role. You'll be responsible for generating your own pipeline, building relationships with prospective clients and converting opportunities into signed agency partnerships. You won't be managing existing accounts, this is a true new business role focused on outbound activity, networking and closing.

To succeed here you'll need a genuine understanding of the digital marketing landscape, including how agencies operate, how services like SEO, paid media, social and web development are packaged and sold, and what business owners actually care about when choosing an agency partner.

Key responsibilities

- Proactively identify and approach new business opportunities across Brisbane and the Gold Coast
- Build and manage a personal pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking and referrals




- Understand each prospect's marketing challenges and position the agency's services accordingly
- Run discovery calls and meetings to qualify opportunities and understand budget and scope
- Prepare and present proposals and pitches to prospective clients
- Negotiate and close new business agreements
- Work closely with the delivery team to ensure a smooth handover from sale to onboarding
- Keep accurate records of pipeline activity and forecasting in the CRM
- Stay across trends in the digital marketing space to speak credibly with prospects

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a new business or business development role within a digital marketing agency, media agency or similar services business
- Robust understanding of digital marketing services and how they're sold
- A genuine hunter mentality, comfortable with cold outreach and building a pipeline from scratch
- Confident presenting to and negotiating with business owners and senior stakeholders
- Based in or willing to work across Brisbane and the Gold Coast
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while contributing to a broader team
