Kensington Gardens Albury operates under the NSW Retirement Villages Act framework, and currently has over 260 homes with current development to reach a finished Village of over 280 homes.
The Village is promoted with lifestyle in mind and the community facilities within the Village form an integral part of the lifestyle expectations of the residents and are a prominent selling feature to new residents. Role
- The Business Support Officer will play a pivotal role providing quality support to the Village Manager in executing the village’s day to day operational requirements.
- This role provides vital support to maintain the efficient functioning of the community, working closely with the Village Manager, Reception, Maintenance, Estates Asset Co-ordinator and Gardening Staff.
- This is an interactive and people focussed role and is just as much about becoming a part of the community as it is in performing practical duties.

Principal Duties – Assist in Daily Village Operations
- Handle general enquiries and provide information to potential residents.
- Manage resident resale/departure process including all documentation is accurately filled and filed. Liaising with the company solicitor on any subsequent lease requirements.
- Work with other team members in assessing and authorising property maintenance requests or with Village Manager on larger expense items.
- Complete regular OH&S; audits and oversee reports to ensure the village and workplace is a safe place for all.
- Ensure emergency call system is always functioning correctly. Troubleshoot any devices as required and complete regular testing.
- Assist Village Manager investigate resident issues or complaints and resolve problems in accordance with our policies.
- Provide relief for Village Manager as well as Reception and Maintenance staff whilst they are on annual leave.

- Ensure all residents are afforded full enjoyment of residency in the village.
- Maintain privacy, dignity and respect in all dealings with residents or potential residents and to treat all information concerning the village and residents as confidential.
- Liaison with residents, and assist Village Manager in attending committee meetings as required e.g. Resident’s Committee meetings; Social Committee meetings.
Reporting Relationship The Business Support Officer reports directly to the Village Manager. Working closely with the Village Manager will provide you with the knowledge and experience to relieve the Village Manager when required.

Education and / or Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative or people focused role, demonstrating the ability to confidently handle enquiries and accurately complete paperwork.
- Sound computer skills in a broad range of applications including MS software programs, especially Word and Excel.
- A knowledge of Goldmine CRM, or an alternative CRM, is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
- Be versed or willing to gain knowledge and understanding of the NSW Retirement Village Act.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and make recommendations on appropriate course of action in resolving resident issues.
- Ability to understand and prioritise tasks/decisions to ensure that urgent tasks are given the appropriate attention while critical tasks are given the level of consideration required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current drivers’ licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable or willing to obtain).
Workplace Environment
- A non-smoking & E-cigarette policy is effective at Kensington Garden’s facilities, offices and motor vehicles.
- 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, or as directed.
