About the role
Vines Therapy is seeking reliable, compassionate Disability Support Workers to support people with disability in their homes and communities.
You will assist clients with daily living, personal care and community participation, following individual support plans and respecting each person’s choices, preferences and independence.
This role suits someone who communicates clearly, follows through on commitments and takes pride in providing respectful, consistent support.
About Vines Therapy
Vines Therapy is an NDIS registered provider delivering allied health and disability support services. Our team works with clients and their families to support participation, wellbeing and progress towards individual goals.
As a Core Support Worker, you will work alongside our wider team, including allied health professionals, to help clients receive coordinated support in everyday life.
What you will do
- Assist clients with daily routines, meal preparation, shopping, laundry and household tasks.
- Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting, where required.
- Support clients to attend appointments, social activities, recreation and other community activities.
- Encourage clients to participate in everyday tasks and develop or maintain their independence.
- Follow individual support plans, communication strategies and approved behaviour support plans.
- Assist with mobility, transfers and equipment within your training and authorised duties.
- Provide medication assistance only where trained, competent and authorised.
- Observe and report changes in a client’s health, wellbeing or support needs.
- Complete accurate progress notes, timesheets and incident reports.
- Maintain qualified boundaries, protect confidentiality and follow safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, supervisors and relevant team members.
What we are looking for
- A respectful, patient approach and a commitment to the rights of people with disability.
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to follow agreed support plans.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to write factual progress notes.
- Confidence working independently, with sound judgement about when to seek assistance.
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback and participate in training.
- Confidence using mobile applications for rostering, communication and documentation.
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability Support, or an equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
Experience in disability support, community services or a related care role is desirable. Experience supporting people with communication differences, psychosocial disability or behaviour support needs will also be valued.
Required checks and credentials
Successful applicants will need
- The right to work in Australia.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, verified before commencing client support.
- A Working with Children Check or relevant state equivalent where required.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Quality, Safety and You, before commencing client support.
- Satisfactory employment references.
- A current driver’s licence where driving is required for the position.
Client transport must follow approved organisational arrangements. Required induction and client-specific training must be completed before undertaking relevant duties.
Working arrangements
Support is delivered in client homes and community settings, with travel between locations. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, depending on client needs and the agreed employment arrangement.
