Illaroo Cooperative Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Indigenous organisation that provides a range of high-quality care services to both residential and community-based elderly care across the Shoalhaven region.

ABOUT THE POSITION The Aged Care Trainee position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience working in residential aged care while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).
The trainee will work as part of Illaroo's care team, supporting residents with their daily care needs while developing the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work as a qualified aged care worker.
As an Aboriginal aged care service, Illaroo is committed to providing culturally safe, respectful and person-centred care. The trainee will be expected to contribute to an environment that respects Aboriginal culture, identity, family, community and connection to Country.
ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Aboriginal identified position
- Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills
- Self – driven with a passion to always put residents first
- Genuine interest in developing a career in aged care and supporting older people.
- Willingness and commitment to undertake and successfully complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) as part of the traineeship.
- Caring, respectful and compassionate approach when working with older people.
- Willingness to learn new skills, follow instructions and accept feedback and guidance.
