PARC Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction and project delivery team in Applecross, Western Australia.
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry and construction activities across project sites, including construction, installation, repair and maintenance of timber structures and building components. The role requires the ability to interpret plans and specifications and complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other materials to required dimensions.
- Construct, install and repair timber structures and building components.
- Construct and install wall frames, roof frames, floors, doors, windows, partitions and other structures.
- Carry out formwork and other carpentry work as required for construction projects.
- Select and use appropriate hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
- Inspect completed work and identify and rectify defects or issues.
- Work closely with other trades, contractors and project team members to coordinate construction activities.
- Assist with site preparation and general construction activities where required.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures,
including safe work practices and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure all carpentry work is completed in accordance with project specifications, relevant building requirements and Australian Standards.
- Report project issues, material requirements and progress to supervisors or project managers.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of relevant experience as a carpenter, preferably in construction or project delivery environments.
- Sound knowledge of carpentry methods, construction materials, tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
