About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Casual Child Care Educators to join our team at Jungle Zoo in the Whitsundays, QLD. This is a casual position, offering flexibility whilst providing meaningful work in early childhood education. As a Casual Child Care Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting children's development, wellbeing and learning outcomes.

You will work collaboratively with our permanent team to deliver high-quality childcare and educational programming across our center. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young children and their families.

Key responsibilities

- Provide secure, supportive care and supervision for children in accordance with center policies and relevant legislation

- Create and implement engaging learning activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development

- Maintain a clean, hygienic and stimulating learning environment that meets health and safety standards

- Build positive relationships with children and families, fostering communication and trust

- Assist with routine care activities including feeding, toileting and rest time management

- Observe and document children's learning and development progress

- Work collaboratively with other educators to ensure consistent quality care and programming





- Support behaviour guidance and positive discipline strategies aligned with centre philosophy

- Maintain confidentiality and follow centre policies and procedures

- Respond to casual shifts as required to support centre operations

What we're looking for

- Current recognised Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) qualification or equivalent (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher)

- Current First Aid and CPR certification relevant to early childhood

- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement

- Demonstrated experience working with children in an early learning or educational setting

- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate programming

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and colleagues

- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to challenging situations

- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflecting on practice

- Flexibility and reliability in casual work arrangements

- Passion for supporting children's learning, play and wellbeing
