Structural Steel Machine Operator – Overhead Crane Experience Essential

Please note: This is not a traditional CNC machining role (lathe, mill or router). This position involves processing structural steel sections using specialised steel processing equipment. Applicants with strong overhead crane experience handling structural steel will be highly regarded.

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Casual Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Dandenong South.

About the Role

- Operating specialised structural steel processing equipment used to drill, mark, cut and process beams, channels and RHS.
- Loading and unloading steel using overhead cranes
- Reading and following nesting lists and production information
- Identifying steel profiles and lengths for processing
- Labelling and stacking completed parts
- Assisting with general manufacturing duties as required




- Maintaining a safe and organised work area

About You

- Previous experience using overhead cranes to handle structural steel (highly preferred)
- Experience working in a structural steel, heavy manufacturing or steel processing environment
- Confidence safely moving long and heavy steel sections
- Ability to read production lists and identify steel profiles
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- Reliability and a solid work ethic
