Disability Coach As the Disability Coach, you will play a key role in empowering learners to achieve their full potential. Working collaboratively with learners, teachers, and student support staff, you will provide tailored coaching and support that promotes inclusion, removes barriers to participation, and enables learners with disability to thrive in their educational journey.

This is an exciting casual opportunity based across TAFE Queensland's Gold Coast campuses reporting to the Manager of Student Support.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide tailored support to learners with disability through the design and conduct of individualised coaching sessions and learner advocacy as required.
- Monitor the delivery of learning activities for relevant units, assess learner engagement and understanding, and communicate relevant information to the teacher and AccessAbility Officer to support the provision of reasonable adjustments and tailored learning support that promotes successful learner outcomes.
- Deliver learner coaching as directed by the AccessAbility Officer, adapting support approaches to meet individual learner needs.
- Prepare and review personalised learning and instructional plans to meet the changing needs of learners, and address barriers to engagement and learning as they arise.
- Coordinate and maintain instructional records, including activities undertaken to support learner engagement and progress, effectively manage resources,



and report significant issues impacting learner outcomes to the AccessAbility Officer.
- Provide learners with information and guidance on industry trends, practices and safety requirements relevant to their training, disability and support needs.
- Contribute to subject planning and learner support strategies through collaboration with teachers and the AccessAbility Officer, providing insights on learner engagement, participation and the impact of disability on learning activities and subject requirements.
- Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.

- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive learning practices through active contribution to course planning and development as a collaborative member of the delivery team.
- Commitment to ongoing career development, with a focus on instructional practice, technology, skills currency and contemporary disability practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles and objectives underpinning anti-discrimination legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Disability Standards for Education 2005, Disability Services Act 2006, and relevant departmental policies and guidelines relating to disability services.

About You This role involves regulated child-related employment and requires the incumbent to hold and maintain a current Blue Card or approved Exemption Card as a condition of employment. For further information regarding the Blue Card system, refer to www.bluecard.qld.gov.au Highly desirable requirements for this position include relevant qualifications in Training and Assessment, Education Support, Individual Support, Disability, or Inclusive Education. Experience in a similar role, together with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practices that support neurodiverse learners in education and training environments, will also be highly regarded.

It is also highly desirable for applicants to hold a current Yellow Card. Applicants who do not currently hold a Yellow Card must be eligible to obtain one if required.
