Hobbit Preschool and Child Care in Armidale is seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Director to lead our well-established service. This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who wants to run a centre, shape its culture, and build a long-term future in the New England region.

As Centre Director, you'll hold day-to-day responsibility for the operation, compliance, and quality of the service, working closely with the approved provider and a dedicated team of educators.

Your responsibilities:

- Lead the day-to-day operation of the service as Nominated Supervisor, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, and all child-safety obligations.
- Provide strong, supportive leadership to the educator team — rostering, mentoring, performance, and wellbeing.
- Oversee enrolments, occupancy, family relationships, and the service's reputation in the local community.
- Manage budgets, administration, and reporting in partnership with the approved provider.
- Uphold the National Child Safe Principles and maintain a protected, inclusive, high-quality environment for every child.
- Work alongside the Educational Leader and Early Childhood Teacher to support a robust educational program .

What we're looking for:

- Demonstrated experience as a Centre Director, Assistant Director,



or in a senior ECEC leadership role.
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (Diploma or above; an ACECQA-approved ECT qualification is well regarded but not essential for this role).
- Sound working knowledge of the NQF, NQS, National Law and Regulations, and Nominated Supervisor requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage a service independently.
- A current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) and relevant first aid/child protection certification.
- Eligibility to be a Nominated Supervisor.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
