About the role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Italian Chef to join our Italian aged care kitchen team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a chef who enjoys preparing nutritious, wholesome and delicious meals while creating familiar flavours and memorable dining experiences for our residents.

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality Italian-inspired meals while catering to individual dietary requirements, texture-modified diets and the nutritional needs of older adults.

What you'll be doing

- Prepare fresh, nutritious and delicious Italian and Mediterranean-style meals.
- Develop menus that are varied, seasonal and appealing to residents.
- Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified meals.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
- Follow food safety, HACCP and aged care food service requirements.
- Work closely with the kitchen and care teams to meet residents' nutritional needs.
- Monitor food preparation, portion control and kitchen cleanliness.
- Create meals that provide a sense of comfort, familiarity and home-style cooking.

What we're looking for

- Has proven experience as a Chef, preferably in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering.




- Has solid Italian cooking skills and a passion for authentic flavours.
- Understands the importance of nutrition and dietary requirements for older people.
- Has excellent food preparation and organisational skills.
- Is reliable, positive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Has knowledge of Australian food safety standards.
- Holds relevant food safety qualifications and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
