Civil Construction Supervisor – Metalliferous Mining Project

RMS Engineering & Construction is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to join our team on our one of our Metalliferous Mining Projects in North Queensland. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone who has worked in civil construction within a mining environment and understands what it takes to lead crews safely, efficiently and to a high standard on a live mining operation.

The Opportunity

Working as part of the project delivery team, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day civil construction activities across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, productively and in accordance with project requirements. The role will suit an experienced Leading Supervisor / Civil Supervisor who is ready to take ownership of site operations and lead a team in a mining infrastructure environment.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising civil construction crews and subcontractors across the project
- Coordinating daily site activities, plant, labour and resources
- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications
- Providing strong leadership and direction to the site team
- Working closely with the Project Manager and site management team to achieve project milestones
- Monitoring productivity, quality and progress of works
- Participating in pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site inspections
- Identifying and addressing construction issues as they arise
- Maintaining a robust focus on safety, environmental compliance and quality
- Supporting project planning, coordination and reporting requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who brings genuine civil construction and mining infrastructure experience, along with the ability to lead a site team and take ownership of day-to-day delivery. To be successful, you will have:





- Demonstrated experience as a Civil Construction Supervisor & or Leading Supervisor
- Strong background in civil construction within the mining industry
- Experience working on mining infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate construction crews
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodology, plant and productivity
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with project management, client representatives and the wider site team
- Current driver's licence
- Ability to successfully complete all required site inductions and medical requirements

Tailings Experience – Highly Regarded

Experience working on tailings storage facility (TSF) construction, lifts or expansions will be highly regarded. In particular, experience with civil works associated with TSF lifts, embankment construction, raise/expansion works, drainage or associated mining infrastructure will be viewed favourably.

- Project Location – North Queensland
- Rostered site-based position
- DIDO only – applicants must be based within the North Queensland region
- FIFO is not available for this position
