Civils QA Inspector – Telecommunications Infrastructure | Sydney****3-Month Initial Contract, with Extension | Highly Competitive Rate

You'll be working on infrastructure for one of the world's largest hyperscalers, right here in Sydney, as the independent set of eyes making sure the job gets done to standard.

No two days will look the same. You'll be out on site, not stuck behind a desk, and your reports will genuinely shape how the project runs.

What's In It For You

- Work on a high-profile, large-scale hyperscale infrastructure project from the ground up
- Genuine autonomy — you'll own your sites, your schedule, and your reporting
- A rate that reflects the specialised skill set this role demands
- The chance to build a track record on a marquee project that'll stand out on your CV
- Strong potential for contract extension beyond the initial 3 months as the project progresses

What You'll Actually Be Doing You'll be the person contractors and project teams turn to for an honest, accurate read on how the works are really progressing. That means:

- Getting out on site to inspect trenching, ducting, chambers, site set-up, and reinstatement work
- Calling out anything that doesn't meet design specs, safety standards, or quality expectations — and making sure the right people hear about it
- Tracking progress against the programme and flagging delays or issues before they become bigger problems
- Keeping accurate records of where work is happening, using GIS and tablet-based mapping tools
- Taking photos and keeping detailed notes so there's a clear trail of what happened, when
- Writing up daily reports that are clear enough for someone who wasn't there to understand exactly what's going on
- Spotting and reporting safety concerns on the spot — never walking past something unsafe

- Keeping contractors, project teams, and local authorities in the loop and working toward solutions

Is This You? You'll do well in this role if you're the kind of person who:

- Notices the details other people miss
- Isn't afraid to have a direct conversation with a contractor about substandard work
- Writes clearly and reports facts, not just impressions
- Enjoys being out in the field and managing your own day
- Genuinely understands ground conditions and reinstatement — not just from a manual, but from experience

You Might Currently Be Working As a...

- Civils/NRSWA Inspector (telecoms, water, gas, or power)
- Clerk of Works (Civils)
- Telecoms Field Engineer or Fibre Build Supervisor
- Utility Compliance Officer
- Construction QA/QC Inspector (civils, utilities, or infrastructure)
- Site Supervisor/Foreman (Civils or Utilities) ready to step into an independent QA role
- Data Centre or Hyperscale Construction Observer
- Local Authority Street Works Inspector / NRSWA Coordinator

What You'll Bring

Essential

- Robust technical knowledge of civil engineering practices for underground networks
- Solid experience in road opening, reinstatement, and compliance
- Familiarity with GIS systems and tablet-based network mapping
- At least 4 years' experience in civils inspection or a related field
- A full driving licence

- Strong planning and coordination skills — you can juggle multiple sites confidently

Desirable:
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and general IT tools
- Telecoms fibre network build experience
- Hyperscale or data centre connectivity project experience

Sound like you? Fancy putting your civils expertise to work on a landmark hyperscale build? If you're ready to bring your civils inspection expertise to a project of real scale, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.
