We are looking for someone to join our high-performing team and become the Class Facilitator for Baby Sensory Central Melbourne. Our job here at Baby Sensory is never dull. Every day, we watch babies develop and grow in our fun, interactive, informative classes. You will get the opportunity to help parents gain new skills as you deliver developmental information and amaze babies with the sensory activities we provide.
Full training is provided. No formal qualifications are necessary, however, reliability, organisational skills and exceptional communication skills are absolutely key to this role and we welcome applicants with those qualities. You will need a current first aid certification and WWCC (or be willing to obtain one) Read on if you are a confident, approachable person with the ability to lead a group of up to 20 adults and their babies.
This position is for 2.5-3.5 days a week:
- Tuesdays in Brunswick East 9:00 am - 2:00/3.30 pm
- Wednesdays in Thornbury - 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
- 3 hours of planning and preparation time at home
- Extra day of classes can be arranged for the right candidate
What's involved in being a Baby Sensory Class Leader?
Each week you will
- Pick up the equipment required for the classes that week and pack into your car for transport to the class venues (equipment required for classes is different every week). It is all packed up ready for you to collect at any time to suit you.
- Prepare and practice the activities for the class at home – ensuring that you are confident in delivering activities, developmental information and learning outcomes, and that you know the music well enough to sing along. You'll be paid for this preparation time and paid an allowance for picking up the equipment.
- Arrive at the venue,
unload your car and set up equipment in time for families to start arriving.
- Welcome families to class (one of the loveliest parts of our classes is chatting to the families, getting to know them and making them feel welcome)
- Lead 3 to 4 classes per day; following a detailed class plan that has been written by our founder, Dr Lin Day. During each class you will share baby development information, sing along to the music, lead a variety of sensory activities and create a fun, informative atmosphere. Full content and music is provided before the class so you will know exactly what to deliver and what equipment to use.
- Clean, sanitise and re-set equipment between classes.
- Pack up equipment in preparation for the next day of classes (sometimes this includes a small amount of washing)
- Return the equipment and pick up the equipment for next week.

- have a driver's licence and the ability to transport equipment (large car or roof box)
- have first aid training and a wwcc
- will be available for training our online training on January 12th and 13th, 2027
