We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Psychologist to join our team!

n

The role will involve:

n

n
- Promoting the mental health and emotional well-being of people with disabilities.
n
- Implementing therapeutic strategies to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
n
- Assisting people with a disability to set and attain individual goals.
n
- Working and liaising with families, service providers, allied health professionals, and community members to enhance the choice, social inclusion, and quality of life for people with disability.
n
- Conducting psychological assessments to inform therapeutic interventions.
n
- Facilitating self-advocacy and / or advocate on behalf of people with disabilities.
n
- Supporting individuals with disabilities to transition to access and maintain meaningful occupation and recreational / lifestyle pursuits.
n
- Developing and facilitating a wide range of capacity building programs that aim to increase independence and skill development.
n
- Helping families, caregivers and individuals with disability understand the impact of disability on a person's daily functioning.
n
- Liaising with stakeholders to ensure all NDIS requirements are addressed in a timely fashion.

Skills and Experience:

n

n




- Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
n
- Prior experience as a Psychologist preferred.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Developmental Education, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Disability or Social Sciences.
n
- Demonstrated experience and well-developed skills in working effectively with children, young people, or adults with a range of disability and/or complex behavioural needs.
n
- The ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders; from the families we work with, to a variety of other service providers.
n
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
n
- Knowledge of strengths-based practice, as well as family and person-centred approaches.
n
- Knowledge of working within the NDIS Restrictive Practice legislation.
n
- Understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support planning and implementation process and compliance with NDIS legislative and Capability Framework.
n
- Highly developed and effective written and oral communication, with a proven ability to clearly and logically express ideas.
n
- Ability to produce professional documents suited to the target audience.
n
