Great Southern Mental Health Service provides specialist inpatient and community mental health care, with multidisciplinary teams delivering services across Albany, Katanning and surrounding communities.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

In This Role You Will

- Provide advanced assessment, treatment and case management for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
- Deliver specialist clinical, consultancy and educational services to clients, carers and healthcare providers.
- Provide expert clinical leadership and support to multidisciplinary team members.
- Coordinate quality improvement, risk management and best practice initiatives.
- Develop and evaluate clinical practice standards, policies and education programs.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with hospitals, general practitioners, schools, community agencies and non-government organisations.

Demonstrated ability to provide advanced, evidence-based mental health assessment, intervention and case management for children and adolescents presenting with complex and high-risk mental health needs, exercising sound clinical judgement and responding effectively in crisis situations.

Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical leadership and specialist professional support that strengthens service quality, promotes best practice and contributes to the development, supervision and ongoing capability of multidisciplinary staff.

Suitability Requirement 3. Collaboration and stakeholder engagement

Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships, communicate effectively and work collaboratively with consumers, families, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to support coordinated and person-centred mental health care outcomes.

Suitability Requirement 4.



Clinical governance and legislative practice

Demonstrated ability to apply relevant legislation, professional standards and clinical governance principles to support safe, ethical and accountable decision making in complex mental health environments.

Suitability Requirement 5. Autonomous community-based service delivery

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across community and outreach settings, effectively managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate clinical records and adapting to the operational demands of regional service delivery.
