Commercial Manager
Barwon Heads | Full time, 18-month tenure | $160-$180K pa
Whelans Group is a proudly Australian-owned civil construction company delivering infrastructure projects across Victoria. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team in a fixed-term capacity on a major civil infrastructure project in the Barwon Heads area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to play a key role in contract administration, risk management and project performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager and senior leadership team, you will oversee the commercial management of the project, ensuring contractual obligations, financial performance and commercial risks are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage head contracts and subcontract agreements
- Oversee variations, claims and contractual correspondence
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts and reporting
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Support project leadership with commercial advice
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
About You
- Experience in a Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager or similar role
- Strong understanding of civil construction contracts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial risk
- Solid financial and analytical capability
