Work From Home | Commercial Painting & Decorating

On Point Painting & Decorating is a Brisbane-based commercial painting contractor specialising in commercial fitout and construction projects.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Painting Estimator to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.

This is primarily a work-from-home position. You do not need to be based in Brisbane; however, you must live within reasonable travelling distance and be willing and able to attend occasional site inspections in Brisbane and surrounding areas when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing accurate take-offs and assisting with the pricing of commercial painting and decorating projects.

Your responsibilities will include

- Completing take-offs for all painting and decorating items from construction drawings and specifications
- Preparing detailed quantities and BOQs in Excel spreadsheets
- Reviewing plans, finishes schedules and specifications to ensure the full painting scope is captured
- Liaising directly with builders and estimators when required to clarify scope or tender requirements
- Assisting with pricing and tender preparation
- Reviewing tender documentation to identify exclusions, inconsistencies and potential scope gaps
- Providing quick-turnaround pricing when required, as we occasionally receive tenders and variations with short deadlines

About You





We are looking for someone with previous estimating experience in commercial painting and decorating who understands the industry and can work confidently with minimal supervision.

You will ideally have

- Previous experience estimating commercial painting projects
- Strong construction drawing and specification interpretation skills
- Experience completing accurate painting take-offs
- A good understanding of commercial painting systems, finishes and preparation requirements
- Strong Excel skills and experience preparing BOQs
- Good attention to detail and the ability to identify scope that may otherwise be missed
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with commercial builders
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet tender deadlines
- The ability and willingness to travel to Brisbane and surrounding areas for occasional site inspections
