Temporary Communications & Marketing Officer opportunity within state government.

Your new company

Our state government client is seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Officer to join their team on a short-term temporary contract until December 2026 with possible extension.

Your new role

- Coordinate newsletters, intranet updates, customer communications, and ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels.

- Assist in delivering integrated marketing campaigns, events, and stakeholder engagement activities to enhance visibility and reputation.

- Respond to feedback via social media, liaise across the organisation, and maintain timely, accurate, and professional communication.

- Contribute to planning, creating, and evaluating communication plans, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness.

- Maintain the tone, style, and relevance of key messages through editorial guidelines and internal communication networks.

- Distribute prepared messages during crises and undertake other duties as directed, including emergency response tasks.

- Adhere to corporate policies, prioritise safety,



and ensure customer needs are met professionally and promptly.

What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in contributing to the development and delivery of internal and external communication plans, marketing plans and support materials.

- Demonstrated experience in developing a wide range of communication materials.

- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create communications for a range of audiences and formats.

- Previous government experience is preferred.

- Builds and maintains relationships with team members, colleagues and clients; Shares information with and contributes to team discussions.
