Are you a high performing communications and engagement professional ready to lead strategic communication and engagement for large projects?

Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a motivated Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to work with the District’s communications team and alongside redevelopment project teams on some of the largest healthcare redevelopment projects in NSW.

Working with executives, clinicians, consumers, government representatives and project teams, you will deliver meaningful communications, manage complex stakeholder relationships and support the implementation of change management plans that help staff and communities navigate transformational change.

Where you'll be working

Join the Corporate Communications team at Westmead Hospital, one of Australia's largest health and education precincts, and play a pivotal role in delivering communications and stakeholder engagement for some of the most significant health infrastructure projects in New South Wales.

Working alongside multidisciplinary redevelopment project teams, you will help support transformational change that enhances healthcare services for local communities. This includes the relocation of mental health services from Cumberland Hospital to a state-of-the-art recent facility within the Westmead Health Precinct, as well as other major capital developments across the district.

What You'll Be Doing This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to lead strategic communications and engagement initiatives across Western Sydney Local Health District. You will develop and deliver compelling strategies, campaigns and engagement activities that inform, connect and inspire diverse audiences throughout the project lifecycle.

- Develop and implement strategic communication and stakeholder engagement plans that support major health infrastructure initiatives.
- Create engaging content and campaigns across digital, print, social media, intranet, events and media channels, translating complex information into clear and accessible messaging.
- Provide expert advice on stakeholder issues, reputation management and communication approaches in a complex and high-profile environment.
- Lead communication and engagement activities that support project milestones, organisational priorities and change outcomes.
- Support project governance, media activities, official events, ministerial visits and reporting while ensuring alignment with NSW Health and WSLHD priorities and branding.

- Tertiary qualifications in Communications and/or extensive professional experience in Corporate Communication, Government or stakeholder relations, project change management or relevant experience within a healthcare setting.
- Advanced communication skills, including effective interpersonal, and negotiation skills and an ability to use initiative in the workplace and to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.




- Proven capability to establish and nurture productive and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications change campaigns for large audiences with a strong focus on aligning key messages with organisational priorities.
- Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering communications content, key messages and in using storytelling to engage and inform a broad range of audiences through a range of channels, including online and digital platforms, internal channels, social media, publications, reports and presentations.
- Knowledge and experience within a health context of capital works change projects and the ability to translate technical and complex information into easily understandable content.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume and demanding environment with a proven capacity to self-organise and prioritise to meet deadlines.
