About the opportunity

Based in Perth’s northern metropolitan area, Altrad is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major SMP infrastructure project. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to delivering WA’s next major water source at the Alkimos Desalination plant.

Forming part of the Project’s on site Leadership Team, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and coordinated delivery of construction works across multiple fronts, ensuring alignment between planning, engineering, and on-site execution.

In addition, you will balance safety, productivity, and stakeholder expectations while driving continuous improvement in execution, constructability, and site performance.

In this role you will:

- Promote and lead a strong HSEQ culture across all construction activities.
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities across SMP scopes, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Oversee and coordinate supervisors, superintendents, and subcontractors to drive aligned delivery outcomes.
- Work closely with project engineering and planning teams to implement practical construction strategies.
- Act as the primary interface between site execution teams and the client’s on-site representatives.
- Manage subcontractor performance, including mobilisation, productivity, and compliance with project requirements.
- Drive planning, scheduling, and short-term lookaheads to ensure works are delivered on time and to plan.
- Navigate SIMOPS and complex construction environments with a strong focus on safety, sequencing, and efficiency.




- Contribute to commercial outcomes through effective resource management, cost control, and issue resolution.

About you You are an experienced hands-on Construction Manager who thrives in fast-paced site environments, bringing teams together to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes across complex SMP projects. You are confident and lead from the front, balancing safety, productivity, and stakeholder expectations to drive successful project delivery.

You bring with you

- A strong commitment to HSEQ leadership, fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across all construction activities.
- Significant experience in construction management within SMP projects, with substantial exposure to structural, mechanical, and piping scopes valued at $50m+.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary site teams, including supervisors, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS).
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex works on site, with a focus on Safety, execution, constructability, and productivity.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively interface with client, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to be solutions focused on resolving issues proactively.
- Demonstrated strong and credible presence leading from the front with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders to drive “best-for-project” decisions that balance safety, cost, time, quality and commercial outcomes.
- Sound commercial awareness, with the ability to manage resources, monitor costs, and contribute to overall project performance.
- Working knowledge of construction planning and scheduling, including short-term lookaheads and alignment with master programs.




- Proven experience in Industrial Relations in a similar working environment.
