About The Role The Content Developer creates content for Deadly Story, our digital resource portal supporting cultural planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in care across Victoria. By developing content for our website, social media and newsletters, this role helps children and young people build a stronger understanding of culture, supports improved health and wellbeing, promotes events, and maintains a portal of accurate, engaging and educational cultural resources.

About You

- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrated strong written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal people, and to create content appropriate for the audience.




- Ability to undertake research to support the development of content for social media and website.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and competency across a variety of platforms and programs used in digital content creation such as Canva or Adobe Suite, basic video editing tools (eg. CapCut, Premier Rush) and website content management systems (eg. WordPress or customs CMS platforms).
- Strong understanding of social media (particularly Instagram) and creating engaging, high quality social-first content including graphics and short form video.
- Ability to plan and deliver a content calendar for social and digital platforms, maintaining a consistent pipeline of ideas and creative aligned to key events and the specific content needs of Aboriginal Cultural Planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, to contribute to team initiatives including during periods of demand and work respectfully with others
- Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
