About The Role

Base Salary: $136,633 plus Super

We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our Operational Systems team, supporting the real-time systems that underpin the safe, secure and reliable operation of Tasmania's electricity network. You'll play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing key Operational Technologies (OT) including SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and associated control applications.

This is an prospect to combine your technical expertise with problem-solving capability, working on systems that directly support the delivery of electricity across the state.

Reporting to the Leader Control Systems, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, performance and availability of TasNetworks' operational technology environment. You'll work across a broad range of activities including system support, configuration management, cyber security, commissioning, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Supporting and maintaining real-time operational systems including SCADA, EMS and ADMS platforms.
- Diagnosing and resolving system issues to maximise availability and reliability.
- Providing technical advice on real-time systems and their impact on network operations.
- Supporting audits, cyber security and compliance requirements.
- Managing system configurations, upgrades, patches and outage planning.
- Commissioning assets into operational systems to support network projects.
- Developing and modifying applications, calculations and control schemes.
- Monitoring emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

About You

About you You'll be an engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working in a critical infrastructure environment. To Be Successful, You'll Bring

- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of electricity networks, power systems and utility operations.
- Experience working with SCADA or other real-time operational systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.




- An understanding of cyber security principles within operational technology environments.
- Experience with contemporary computing, networking or virtualisation technologies.
- Experience in software development using C, C++, C# and Python will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM) will be advantageous.
- Experience and knowledge working with 61850 advantageous but not critical
