Experienced cook wanted for a well-established, iconic busy café in Malvern/Abbotsford in Victoria

Rotational roster allowing for any two weekdays off.

Reporting directly to the business owners, the position will be full time for the right person on completing a successful trial. You will join a well established team ensuring quality food.

Core responsibility include, but not limited to -

The delivery of consistent quality food with both grill and plating up capacities.

· Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of items from the menu

· Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays

· Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food

· Plan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of the kitchen

· Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services

· Plan and price menu items in collaboration with the management

· Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards and then order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation. Also check the quantity and quality of received products

· Keep records and accounts in collaboration with the help of management

· Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.

· Assist management with the recruitment and hire staff





· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff

· Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met

· Coordinate planning, budgeting, and purchasing for all the food operations within establishments such as clubs, hotels, or restaurant chains

Qualification & Experience

· Relevant Cert IV or higher

· 3 years of experience in a busy commercial kitchen site - 271 Johnston st Abbotsford
