About the Role

RASHAYS Underwood is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will prepare and cook meals to established recipes and quality standards while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.

- Check the quality and freshness of food and ingredients before preparation.

- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, portioning and seasoning.

- Operate ovens, grills, fryers, stovetops and other commercial cooking equipment and regulate cooking temperatures.

- Cook, season, portion and plate meals to required quality and presentation standards.

- Store food and ingredients safely, including in temperature-controlled facilities, and follow stock-rotation procedures.

- Prepare meals for special dietary requirements where required.

- Monitor food supplies and advise senior kitchen staff of stock requirements.

- Maintain a clean,



safe and hygienic kitchen and comply with food safety and WHS requirements.

- Assist with training junior kitchen staff where required and work effectively with the wider restaurant team.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant commercial cookery qualification (such as AQF Certificate III/IV or equivalent) and/or relevant industry experience.

- Relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial restaurant or hospitality setting.

- Sound knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety and hygiene.

- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen and consistently follow recipes, portions and presentation standards.

- Good organizational and time-management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
