Crane Operator – Cane Railway

Bundaberg Sugar Limited is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our Cane Railway Maintenance team.

This position supports the maintenance of our cane railway network. During the non-crush season, you will work day shifts carrying out track maintenance. During the crushing season, you will work shifts and assist with the recovery of derailed cane railway rollingstock.

The position reports to the Railway Maintenance Supervisor or their nominee.

Key responsibilities

- Operate a mobile crane safely during track maintenance and derailment recovery.
- Carry out general cane railway track maintenance.
- Attend derailments and assist with the safe recovery of locomotives and rollingstock during the crushing season.
- Follow protected work plans,



operating procedures and correct lifting techniques.
- Inspect vehicles, tools, lifting gear and safety equipment before use.

What you will need

- A current C2 mobile crane licence.
- A current HR driver licence.
- Experience operating mobile cranes.
- The ability to work day work during the non-crush season and shift work during the crushing season.
- A strong commitment to working safely and following procedures.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Cane railway or railway maintenance experience is preferred but not essential.
