Join SICK, a team that values improvement, innovation, and exceptional customer experiences. We're seeking a confident individual with a passion for customer service and excellent communication skills to join our team.
About Us
At SICK Sensor Intelligence, we are pioneers in Industrial Automation Sensors and Solutions, employing over 10,000 people globally. Our track record of industry firsts includes innovations like the first safety light curtain and the first colour sensor, revolutionising industrial automation. As a market leader, we are committed to attracting top talent to drive continued success.
About the Role
Our current customer service team has an average tenure of 5 years, so you won't be short of support. You'll own the full customer experience: inbound enquiries, quoting, order processing, and technical troubleshooting in partnership with our engineers. Once you're fully trained and competent, you'll move to 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Rotating shifts between 8am–6pm (known in advance). The role is based in our Heidelberg West Office.
Your Day to Day
- Inbound customer calls and enquiries, handled with professionalism and follow-through
- Accurate, timely quote and sales order processing
- First-line basic technical support on our sensor and automation product range, escalating to technical specialists where needed
- Complaint resolution - establishing the issue, proposing a solution, and following up to confirm it's actually fixed
- Assisting with the warehouse team during peak periods (occasionally)
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a customer service, sales support, or order entry role, ideally in a technical, distribution, or manufacturing environment
- You value building longevity with an employer and want a role you can grow with
- Working knowledge of SAP and/or a CRM platform (is a plus, not a requirement)
- Comfort reading a technical spec sheet or asking the right question when you don't know the answer
- Trade or technical qualification (is a plus, not a requirement)
Growth Path Several people currently in our Sales, Finance and Leadership positions started in Customer Service. We can't promise a specific path, but we do support people who want to grow into adjacent roles when opportunities come up - typically after they've built real depth in this role first, usually 2+ years in.
Benefits
- Annual bonus incentive + Monthly Reward and Recognition program.
- Events organised by our social committee.
- Career development opportunities and potential for career growth.
- Flexible work arrangements and a supportive company culture.
Our commitment to you We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where all employees are valued, respected, and have a balanced work-life. Our commitment to a positive company culture drives our success and we strive to build a team that represents a wide range of backgrounds and so we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
