Cyber Security Officer

- Full-Time (35hpw) Temporary to March 2028
- Salary Range $ 93,490– $ 106,841pa + super
- Parramatta location with hybrid working (1-2 office days)

About the team Our Cyber Security team is hard at work securing data for millions of NSW customers and ensuring that citizens can transact with the NSW government in a secure manner.

The Cyber Security portfolio consists of various cyber security arms spanning from Digital Forensics and Incident Management to Offensive Security. This provides a breadth of cyber specialities that the team member can work in. The role has a direct impact on protecting the citizens of New South Wales by securing the products and platforms they use digitally.

About the role The Cyber Security Officer will assist in ensuring that Service NSW is complying with relevant security frameworks and that cyber security risks are managed appropriately.

This role will assist in Service NSW Cyber Security Policy reporting requirements, maintenance and audit of Service NSW ISO2700 certification.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist with tasks relating to maintaining and auditing Service NSW ISO 27001 certification, working with relevant stakeholders across the organisation.
- Contribute to ensuring that Service NSW complies with relevant security frameworks such as the NSW Government Cyber Security Policy, Essential 8, ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Contribute to monitoring, reporting and improving Service NSW cyber security compliance posture by performing a range of activities including around third-party risk management.
- Assist the Governance, Assurance, Risk and Architecture team in delivering strategic and BAU initiatives involving infrastructure security, data loss prevention, network security, risk management, audit actions tracking and reporting etc.
- Provide a range of administrative and support services to the team to support day to day functions, continual improvement,



and working collaboratively with teams across Cyber Security and Digital Services divisions within Service NSW.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

- Sound knowledge of introductory information Security and/or Cyber Security principles and concepts
- Have a well-established understanding of various cyber security frameworks and policies such as NSW Cyber Security Policy, Essential 8, ISO27001 and NIST.
- Be across a broad range of ICT and cyber security technologies with a practical understanding of cloud environments such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform. Prior experience and understanding of containerisation technology will be highly regarded.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, team members, and other relevant parties to gain feedback, consensus, and commitment around cyber initiatives.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or relevant industry experience
- Certifications in CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CISA will be highly regarded

Salary Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $93490 base plus superannuation
